A Cultural Interview

I have been interviewed by Magazines and websites from all over the world, today I was interviewed by a sweet girl who chose yours truly ♥ as an icon of our subculture to feature for her college research paper over the classical culture of my family life to the alternative lifestyle I live now. This is a first for me and I always like trying new things! *hehe*

I am so honored this interview unlike any I have ever done before! Get to learn some really neat stuff about how I grew to become the "Sabrina Sin" I am today, also some pretty interesting personal facts about my childhood and someones outside perspective of meeting me in real life! I love this feature and I hope you do too! -xoxo

A Cultural Interview by Lindsey Schofield

I can remember the day I met Sabrina. It was a few years ago at the Woodlands mall but still she stuck fresh in my mind. I was out with a new friend and as I approached to meet his friend’s she stood out immediately. She was tall but it could have been the black buckled knee height black leather boots. A colorful woman covered in colorful tasteful tattoo’s that adorned her body in open spaces for all to see. The clothing she wore was a short tight fitting black skirt and a pair of ripped up netted stockings. The top was black and a tank of sorts with a corseted design. In truth, it wasn’t the clothes or the tattoo’s that drew me to this woman, nor was it the dark black hair and the harsh fringed bangs that framed her face , or the well done pinup style makeup that I would recognize anywhere. It was just her and the presence of utter confidence that she carried. Daring to be different and encouraging others to express what they truly were and not what people wished them to be. She did this all by sitting in a chair without saying a word and in that short time I knew there was more then met the eye. The atmosphere she produced was not the same as the tattooed girl that walked the food court decked in gaudy over gauged piercings, she did not have the feeling of rebellion but one of a peaceful acceptance and ever since then she has had my attention. Time has passed since I first saw her but even now I still feel the same. She is now the alternative model Sabrina Sin as well as a host of many BDSM and Glamour events. She has been featured in magazines from other continents but still she keeps a level head.

When this project of culture was assigned I didn’t know what to do at first but then I went to Barcadia and there she was behind the bar. In that moment, I knew I had to write about this silent but often misunderstood sub culture that has brought so many people together and allowed them to be themselves for the first time in their lives. This is my tribute into that culture and now I bring you a perspective of a new age warrior of self expression and art.

1. What is the most significant difference you find between your native culture and the culture you are now living in?

I grew up in a very strict home, attending church every Sunday and a private school where part of our general education was etiquette. I don’t mind in fact I really appreciate the way my parents raised me, although I am sure they never would have guessed I’d of turned out the way I have *lol* I live my life much more freely now. I am spontaneous and open to new adventures, but I am glad for my background and the morals I had instilled in me growing up because I am able to realize if I begin to stray too far off track. I was disciplined and educated, things that are important to being a successful human being.

2. What is the view of women in this culture is it elevated or depreciated?

Women are celebrated! The women of our sub culture are beautiful, fashion forward and covered in some amazing ink! They are envied, admired and intrigue the world around us mystified by the unknown. We are a mix of your 50’s sweet, innocent dream girl and the sexy independence of being a strong woman in today’s world.

3. How has your family played a part in your cultural evolution?

My mother is an artist and has always been very supportive of my life choices, no matter how thrown off she may have been by some of them, she always just wanted me to do what made me happy. My father (by adoption) on the other hand is deeply religious and has always frowned on my career choice but despite not approving of me still loves me… from a distance. I like to joke with him that it’s my rebellious teenage angst that caused me to turn to a more accepting subculture at a young age. All in all though I love my family and they have always been there for me.

4. Do you think this culture is perceived as normal and if not why?

I think the alternative lifestyle is becoming more accepted and less looked down upon as the years go by but no I don’t think it is perceived as normal, nor will it ever be but that is what I love about it! Why? Well... it’s alternative to the norm, even if what is looked upon now as strange and “alternative” were to become the norm, the alternative lifestyle is forever evolving.

5. What influences do you think your culture promotes?

The subculture I live in and work to help create and promote is all about having self esteem, loving yourself no matter what and being comfortable in your skin. Also, that the world is our playground so have fun with it! Life is too short not to enjoy, not saying other cultures aren’t all about enjoying life but it’s about creating your own world, thinking for yourself and making your own way.

6. Have your choices played a part in your reasons for independence?

I have always been an independent person, determined from a young age to make my own way in life, build my own path and create my own success. So in answer to your question yes, all of the choices I have made since I have been on my own have been in an effort to make that happen.

7. Is education important?

Absolutely! I come from a very strict educated background and I am so grateful for my parents forcing me through school the way they did. It was important to them that I receive a fine education as it should be to anyone.

8. Does gender play a big role in where you fit in and is there any stigma against age?

In my career definitely! I am an alternative model and while I fully support any male models out there trying to make it in the alternative scene, it’s really all about us ladies. As in any modeling career age unfortunately does matter, but at least on the alternative side of the spectrum you have a lot more years to prolong and advance in your career than you would as a commercial model, who are considered dinosaurs by the age of 30. I know many alternative models in their 30’s who are still drop dead gorgeous and only becoming more and more successful with time. I wouldn’t say it’s so much age as it is maintenance and fighting nature *haha*

9. Is your family a big influence in your life and do they agree with your choices?

10. What is your political stance?

I try to let the politicians worry about politics; I have enough to deal with. Don’t get me wrong I’d prefer not to have morons running our country but we don’t seem to have much control over that so I am not going to lose sleep at night worrying about it.

11. Was it a gradual transition to this culture or do you think it was always who you were meant to be?

Well, I remember even as a young kid I always felt different from everyone else. I never felt like I quite fit in and I never understood why, growing up as an outcast was difficult for me. I got teased a lot by other children and I went from being an outgoing carefree child to an awkward, shy and insecure pre-teen. For my high school years I was sent to public school and immediately made friends with the other kids who seemed to stand out. They were different from everyone else, wore all black and lots of eyeliner *haha* but they were friendly and opened me into their group with open arms. I finally felt like I belonged, as I got older I began to branch out into the alternative scene more and more until I finally got to where I am today. I will never be your wholesome girl next door, I am an artist, I have tattoos, I work hard and play harder. I will never see the world the same way you do. So yes, I believe this is who and where I was always meant to be.

12. Do you think you are a healthy role model for others who are inside and outside this community?

I strive to be a positive influence in peoples’ lives, I am currently reading a book in which the first chapter discusses the way we influence people and that every encounter you have with anyone should somehow enrich their lives and they should walk away a better person from having encountered you. I hope to enrich and have a positive effect on the lives of others, I want nothing more than to make a good impact on the world during the short time I have here.

13. Do your tattoo’s all have meanings to them or is there a reason for them?

All of my tattoos are very personal and hold a lot of meaning to me. They are symbolic reminders of hardships I have been through learned from and came out on top, portraits of people I am heavily influenced or inspired by, and some are sentimental for family or other reasons. I hate flash, I think it’s a disgrace to the art and I wish people would put more thought into their tattoos… they’re permanent. I just will never understand how someone can walk into a shop pick the same butterfly off a wall 500 other people have chosen before and say “Yes, I ‘d like to live the rest of my life with THAT tattoo.” Grr… I’m going to stop there because I can easily go off on a tangent about bad tattoos.

14. Do you think that this culture adaptation will always be with you or do you think things will change with time?

I am changing every day, constantly learning, growing and evolving as a person. I will always be who I am I just hope to continue to better myself as a person and as a human being. The world I live in and the choices I have made will always play a huge part in who I am as whole.

15. What is your expectations of your children and would you allow them into the same world?

Oooh.. me having kids *lol* That is a scary thought… I do hope to one day though. As far as what my expectations for them would be and if I’d allow them into my world, well if I would have brought them into this world, my world, I’d only want them to enjoy life and be themselves. Do whatever it takes to find their place in the world, true happiness and true love all while knowing they have a mother who loves them dearly and will always have their back.

In reflection I have to say that it seems like we all are a lot more alike than most. We see these models and we see the appeal of the world that they live on and we either find it intriguing or disgusting and condescending depending on our upbringing. I was brought up in a pretty conservative household and my mother nearly had a heart attack when I pierced my lip and in that sense I feel like the background culture is similar in a way and the evolution of it comes from Sabrina , herself. She was very down to earth and very gracious about doing this interview for me, taking time out of her run around schedule. Education is another value that our backgrounds share and I think that would be surprising to some since many people poorly correlate self expression with lack of education. I think this is another prime example of why they say that, ‘you can’t judge a book by it’s cover.’ I don’t think I could have picked a more explanatory candidate for this interview and it was a pleasure to get insight into a world that sit’s in silent persecution. I dare you to be different.

You Gave Me Lemons I'm Serving Lemonade.

SO sometimes you just have to say enough is enough.

For the past 6 months (if not longer) I have been dealing with a very childish/personality and the general consensus that this person is a nuisance and bottom feeder of the community. Known for her irrational behaviors, drug use and psychotic episodes, Jacqi Kil has chosen to target me out of what I can only assume from what others have told me as jealousy, and if for no other reason her well known mental instability.

I've recently filed a police report pressing charges on her as well as her bandmate (The Alley Queens) Glenn Gilbert. I feel somewhat sorry for this kid, having never met him I have only ever heard good things about him but he allowed her to suck him into being her puppet and so will have to pay the consequences for their actions.

The police report consisted of a compiled list of dates from previous physical assaults, verbal threats, and as recently as Thursday sexual/verbal harrassment as well as a list of about 20 peoples names, (including club owners, bouncers, other local musicians as well as members of Semi- Precious Weapons, etc.) phone numbers and willing testimonies to her obscene attacks and threats.

Her most recent harassment involving threats to other friends of mine including my room mate and fellow model Roxy Vandiver, both beautiful, smart independent women.

How weak can you be, instead of attacking such people you obviously admire and are envious of it seems the more adult thing to do is pay attention because perhaps you could learn something from these women including myself. But it's too late now you have made your bed.

I have a case number and a detective on call and I have been informed that if either of them attempt to contact me in any way, all I have to do is make one phone call and they will be issued a warrant for their arrest and facing up to 1 1/2 years in county jail.

Ignoring you in hopes that you would grow up and move on with your life, realizing there is more to life than being jealous and trying to cause a scene to make a new name for yourself in a scene in which you have already ruined your reputation obviously isn't the way to deal with your behavior so perhaps facing jail time will open your eyes.

Glenn Gilbert, hopefully you will learn to think for yourself and I wish you the best of luck.

So…

The other night while out with some friends I agreed to get on stage and sing Karaoke. While downstairs it was my turn to sing karaoke with a girlfriend of mine and I heard them call out my name so in a hurry to get back up to the stage I tried to run up the stairs when I missed a step (yes, I can be a klutz) The glass I had been holding fell to the ground shattering and I fell slicing my face open on the broken glass… A very nice gentleman helped me onto my feet then as I tried to tell him I was fine just mildly embarrassed and be on my way up the stairs to get on stage he stopped me, exclaiming that I was not okay to get on stage. Uh-Oh I thought! I asked him if it was REALLY bad or if I just needed to wipe my face off.. He just sort of looked at me with an upset expression and said simply.. it's bad.

While in the bathroom trying to clean myself up and blood literally pouring into the sink I requested another (random) girl in the restroom to please find & tell my friends where I was and that I was injured.. her response “That’s not real blood, you’d be in more pain.. your make up sucks.” Grr.. she was an absolute Idiot, not to mention obviously overly intoxicated but most of all an idiot. After making the decision to not punch her in the face I made my way upstairs to find my friends where I proceeded to tell them what happened and they rushed me outside and into the car.

One of my friends MAYYY have gone back to find the idiot girl and slapped some sense into her for not assisting me, but I'm not saying anything.

We ventured to the ER which resulted in a long exhausting visit where I was diagnosed with 4 serious lacerations, and given 22 stitches down the left side of my face and the only time I cried was when they told me my tattoo was going to be ruined. (For those of you who don't know I have 6 tiny stars tattoo'd right at the corner of my left eye, it is my favorite ink and means a lot to me so I was very upset) but managed to convince myself I am still very fortunate that although the 2nd worst cut sliced right through the middle of my star it stopped less than a cm from my eyeball. I also love my eyeballs =)

So how does a Sabrina Sin react when something like this happens.. find a way to turn it into a
work of art.

We shot this set in a really cool warehouse,

once the home for the lovely Simaria's InFocus Make Up Studio

I always loved shooting in this building its covered in great

little nooks and cranny's that both the camera and I love!

Sophisticated Bitch and provided us with a whole slew of wardrobe to shoot

and while going through the great selection of clothing to choose from

I came across this shirt "Virus"and immediately fell in love!

It brought to mind a band I use to be in love with "The Virus"

I suppose it brought back some rather nostalgic memories for me

of my "Punk Rock" days... my sky high hot pink tri-hawk, my leather jackets

covered in patches and pins for some god awful bands, my holey black skinny jeans

and beat to hell combat boots.. ahh memories. I've come a long way from drinking 40's

from the local gas station while waiting for another crazy night at Fitzgerald's.

Life is funny.

The Aftermath of Valentines

After quite a rollercoaster of the last 6 months... I am happy to say that 2011 held the best Valentines Day I have yet to encounter. Just the two of us a quiet night at home, candles burning, a romantic dinner which we prepared together (consisting of cranberry infused champagne with rasberry garnish, vietnamese shrimp & glass noodle salad, a citrus infused hot chocolate for dessert *YuM* Then finished the night off with a few new movies we hadn't yet seen together and last but not least simply curling up in each others arms and drifting off to sleep with that feeling of happiness and complete peacefulness, knowing this is what I had been missing.

I love you so much. It's us against the world.

Hi everyone!
I have been having severe withdrawals from not being able to spend my days online getting work done and being productive sigh I have missed you all... 10 more days til I have my home workstation back... I feel like such a bum right now and my work is just piling up. It is crazy how dependent on technology our society has become..

However, my new kitten "Little Frank Sinatra" has been doing his best to help me pass the time! He keeps me pretty busy with his need for play and my desire to make him home cooked meals like grilled salmon with a side of kitten milk.. yes he is spoiled but he is adorable.. I can't help it!

You may also notice in the above photo I have some new ink.. this I am very excited about hehe Every couple of months I get an irresistible urge to hear the humming of the tattoo gun as it penetrates my virgin skin =)

As many of you know for the past 5 years I have traveled across the country to Richmond, Virginia every couple of months to satisfy my need for ink which don't get me wrong is worth every bit of the opportunity to work with the wonderful Germ <3

However, this time I am happy to share with all of you that my latest piece in progress is being created by my dear friend and amazing artist Jason Beavers. Located right here in my hometown of Houston, Tx WhEee Add him on Facebook, he is a really great guy and his artwork speaks for itself, as you follow him you may learn he comes from a line of award winning artists! ;)

Absent w/o a Doctor's note... Le Sigh

   Hi everyone,
   I must apologize for my recent absence in the world.wide.web.
       I have a lot of really great wonderful news, stories and events I am just dying to share with all of you however my life seems to be technologically on hold right now until I can find a compatible (& affordable) power source for my laptop *sadface* In the meantime i am working from my amazing little Android who at the moment is a lifesaver and stealing webtime from friends when I can without feeling completely rude by making them think my weblife is more important than my real one.. although I suppose it really is higher on my list of priorities ;P

I hope to have this issue resolved in the next couple of days in the meantime here is a picture of the very first jack-O-lantern I have ever had the pleasure of making!!

*Hehe* Being raised by a super super (backassward) "Christian," doesn't leave a child with much opportunity to carve jack-o-lanterns and celebrate her favorite holiday..Halloween <3 I have to admit though, I am quite proud of my first attempt ;)

Also recently I filmed my very first commercial for a local Houston alcoholic beverage company "Black Iguana" We had a blast and the entire cast and crew were so much fun to work with! I really hope I get the opportunity to work with some of them again. Here is a preview of the commercial...

It was also featured just this week at Houston's first Splatterfest- a horror film festival put together by Kerry Beyer (of "Kerosene films" Director of "Spirit Camp")

...featuring some really great shorts by film makers from all over Houston. I was really proud to be apart of this festival and look forward to its future success while celebrating the great amount of success it's first year!

*Exciting News*

As of yesterday I have been sought out by award winning historic author Hillary Marek to co-author her upcoming book, I don't want to say too much about it at this point except that the title is "Rockabilly, Americas Love for the Pin-Up Era" <3 I am sooooo excitedd!! In this book I will be featured as one of the top pin up models of today's culture as well advising others on the fashion, style and other key points of the Rockabilly lifestyle of today and of the beloved yesteryear <3 I promise to share more details as the project unfolds!

That's all for now and I may have already said too much *hehe* ..Never.. I always have so many exciting stories to tell I just can't write them down fast enough be sure to follow me on Facebook though where I try to keep everyone posted on my daily updates, events, and photoshoots... it's like my Twitter but with more pictures and sillyness =)

Hello everyone,
Woke up today with an annoying itchy scratchy feeling in my throat makes me sad.. I hate being sick.. I don't have time to be sick so I usually just have to suffer through it with a smile on my face while stifling my coughs as I shake hands and pose for pictures *haha* It is indeed a talent in itself.. but enough about that I'll let DayQuil do it's job...

Tonight I am headed to San Antonio to check out Klub Atomix where my friend Ivan Gamez will be DJing, I am excited =) San Antonio is beautiful and I haven't been in years.. not sure what to expect from an "Industrial Dance Rave..." but I am sure it will be interesting nonetheless.. doesn't hurt I love Industrial, and I love to Dance *hehe* Fun times ahead.. come on DayQuil...kick in!

Last Saturday I had the most *AMAZING* birthday party ever! Houston's infamous Numbers Nightclub invited me to have my birthday party there and I was so overwhelmed with the amount of people who came out to help me celebrate.. for all of you who were in attendance.. you made this the best birthday ever No doubt! For those of you who couldn't make it.. Don't worry I throw cool events all year long =) My birthay consited of over 300 people, shibari suspensions by my dear friend DoctorZ a beautiful performance by the lovely Calla Doll <3 and a deliciously sexy human birthday cake buffet *om nom nom* That was my favorite part and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun eating cake off of a sexy young girl.. duh.
*Special Thanks...* to Numbers, Carmina Bell, Dare Ware Calla Doll, DoctorZ and everyone who came out to make this a birthday I will never forget... Thank you <3

This week I shot a couple sets with Gutterbrain-Studios, I really like Craig's style of photography. It is very gritty grungy and the lighting and shadow techniques are very different from the more glamorous styles I am used to shooting but I have a lot of fun with it...So here are a few fun teaser photos from some of my upcoming sets.. They had a lot of fun watching me get dressed up and pull off a more masculine side of Sabrina Sin *haha* and other than the smell of straight whiskey and getting cigar sprinklings in my teeth *LoL* This set was a lot of fun I'll post some more pictures of me getting "shaved" later ;)

Apparently it is National Mushroom Month
*hehe* ..sometimes I wonder who comes up with these silly holidays but I suppose I'm glad they do because they're rather entertaining.... not to mention this mushroom looks like a tasty little cake =P

Ok I may be a little sleep deprived.. I have this annoying pain I am dealing with on the roof of my mouth, I have to go to the dentist tomorrow an I haven't been able to get much sleep. I am hoping he will just tell me it is an allergic reaction to something or that perhaps it is finally time for me to say adios to my long time barbell that has lived protruding through my tongue for the last 8 years. I will miss it if that is so, but I happen to love my teeth a lot more! *Haha* Not sure there is a huge market out there for hot alt models missing a front tooth, I have no doubt though I could find a way to pull it off =P

Anyway I am sleepy but when I got an email this morning alerting me about National Mushroom month it made me think of this funny phone pic of me, because I think my head looks like a mushroom with the way my hair is styled *LoL*

I believe I took this in the car on my way to a shoot for Dollskin Latex. Angel Jagger did my make-up she is amazing <3

I have a couple shoots coming up this week, for Zivity, I have finally decided to stop putting it off and start shooting some sets for them. I like the whole concept the website is built around and I don't ever hear of anyone getting ripped off so we'll see how it goes! I'll be sure to keep everyone updated so you can go and vote on my sets as they go live *hehe*

I read Your Jounal..

Good Morning everyone!
Not sure why I am awake and have so much energy at 7 am.. I really want to go for a run but unfortunately I am out of town right now and do not have my running shoes *sadface* I guess I need to start bringing them with me on my trips because when I don't all I do is think about how I wish I had them... Anyway, I ran across this photo this morning online and it made me giggle so I thought I'd share:

*LoL* When I am feeling down or stressed out I just google "funny" or "cute" and luckily I'm so easily entertained sometimes I really do just scroll through the pages and laugh at everything.

I like that I am easing myself back into posting in here I honestly kind of missed my journal but there were so many horrible things going on in my life I was afraid of what venom I might spew, and being that I am a strong believer in karma I would hate to be sending out any bad energy. Life is too short so instead I've just kept my mouth as tightly closed as possible and waited while I healed in silence. =)

I have a cool shoot tomorrow with a new photographer I have never worked with, we are shooting a dream sequence on the beach, I love the beach and it should be a lot of fun. I am just so shy I get really nervous when it comes to working with people for the first time... after I work with new people though I always find they suprise me and usually turn out to be really cool. I have a pretty good judge of character so I manage to not get myself into too many dumb situations *LoL* But I look forward to sharing some of our work from tomorrows shoot.

In the meantime here are some photos I shot with photographer Simon Gentry, I remember being really nervous when I first met him too, but he had me in stitches the entire time! I hope I get to work with him again soon =)

Good morning everyone,
Sooo I just woke up from the craziest dream and just figured I have to share before I forget!

...It started out with a bunch of me and my closest friends hanging out in the home I grew up in, including a few people I haven't seen since high school..someone came to me and handed me some crystals that had little teeny baby squids in them and said.. you will need this, and warned me that alien squids would be attacking the planet.. for some reason I thought I should put the crystals in a tupperware container for when it "hatched" so I could study them and figure out a way to kill the aliens.. before too long I looked out the kitchen window and realized space was clouded with giant alien squids with human eyes and they were looking directly at me, I tried to pretend I didn't see them and go on about washing the dishes and whatever else I was doing but it was too late they began attacking my world and all my friends who were hanging out in the house that I grew up in..they would peep through my windows with their big human-squid eyeballs and then attack, ripping the roof off and wrapping their tentacles around each one of my friends one by one and taking them away... I felt helpless and scared until they grabbed Ashley then I decided to put up a fight I grabbed her away from the big bad squid threw her over my shoulder and carried her to the laundry room where I told her to be very quiet and very still then proceeded to take a seat next to her and throw clothes on top of us believing they would disguise us from the aliens. Somehow it worked.. I'm not sure what the crystal was for but I saved Ash's life and a few other of my friends and we ended up making friends with the squids... After they had all moved into my home and taken over one of the lady squids offered to take me and Ash out to lunch while in the car I realized there was someone I needed to know if they had survived, I jumped out of the car (*LOL* yes the alien squid was driving a car, a yellow car) and found myself walking into the entrance of the hospital and there he was the person I wanted more than anything at that point in time waiting for me but covered in bandages. We took each others hands and began to walk he offered me lunch out of a vending machine because I still had not eaten and we walked hand in hand discussing an email Halo had written to him and about how to bring peace to our lives again. The End.

I have really crazy dreams, sometimes they make me giggle and sometimes they make me cry. This one somehow made me feel like everything is going to be alright....

Here is a cute phone pic of I took while getting ready to host a metal show for Monster Energy recently *hehe*.. now my dreads will forever make me think of squidwars!!

I know I am way far behind in posting in my blog these days but something is wrong, something is missing.. there's a hole inside me and no matter how wonderful people are or how many amazing opportunities keep coming my way I can't find a way to fill it. Each day passes and I feel like it's a dream, like it's happening to someone else not me... That I am still living my life a year ago and any day now I will wake up... I'm watching as everything in everyone changes before my eyes people come and people go. Opportunities come and opportunities pass.. words not spoken that should have been shared, holding back changes everything. But even when it hurts this way, what is it exactly that hurts? Is it me, is it you, is it everyone around me. Sometimes I feel like I am just ultra sensitive to the people around me and I want everyone else to be happy so bad I forget to be a little selfish.. and when I am.. my timing is all wrong. This is my journal so I should be able to vent here as I want but I also know I am being watched, always, it makes me feel schizophrenic when I feel I have to censor myself.. I am on the verge of just combining it all and saying to hell with you all. Love me or don't, leave me or don't. But that's as much venting as I am going to do for tonight, perhaps I'll write more.. share more when I sort out my feelings.. when I have some sort of closure on this open space that's gaping from my insides.. *GorY* I know.. so here is a song instead.

Hello My Sinners

WOW.. So I just realized it has been like 3 months since I have posted on here for all of you...
   For about the last 6 months I have had a lot happen in my personal life that has taken quite an emotional toll on me. I have lost several loved ones this year and has been very difficult, it has been very hard for me to want to sit down and pour my heart out to the world, I suppose I haven't wanted to face reality myself let alone share it with the rest of you. I've had to take a short hiatus from shooting and running my events to pull myself together again. My artwork and productions mean a lot to me and I just don't feel content providing all of you with anything less than my best. I haven't felt (until now) like I have been able to do that these last few months. I want to sincerely thank everyone who has been there to support me through these hard times, I have truly truly amazing friends, fans, supporters, etc and I want to thank all of you for continuing to be so.
   In so many words though.. I am happy to announce that my hiatus has come to an end and I am back and ready to rock! It's truly amazing when the inspiration you are so desperately looking for to keep going and staying strong just walks right into your life, appears right before your eyes providing you with a new perspective and the ability to see everything around you in a new and different light. <3
  ...I'm very sleepy now but I promise to write more soon including a ton of really great pictures from my hiatus traveling *hehe* Have a wonderful night everyone, I'm so happy to be back! -xoxox

          Soo I see now it's been over a month since I have posted any new blog entries =/
   In a way I guess I have been hiding from this thing. I like to come here to write about & share with everyone all the exciting things that are currently going on in my life. Unfortunately the last few weeks my head has been such a blur of emotions and stress from various sources... blahblahblah. It has not all necessarily been bad stress though =) Overbooking and hectic scheduling is my idea of good stress *hehe*
   Point being I am afraid if I had tried to open up at all it just would have just led to a bunch of posts I would just wish never existed....So I find it simpler just to fade away for awhile while I get my head together.
However, more exciting news.. I am back now!
    And amidst all of the crazy events that have taken place the last few weeks there have been some equally amazing I have been dying to share with all of you!

The last month has actually been a really great and definitely productive =)

    First off my Fetish Friday events held at Diesel Dive Bar every Friday are in full swing and I could not ask for things to be going better!! Just last weekend I was also able to attend for the first time ever the Texas Frightmare Weekend in Dallas where I had the opportunity to meet some of my favorite horror movie stars as well as the creative genious behind alot of my favorite past and upcoming horror films *hehe*
...Not to mention had the opportunity to hang out with some really amazing and talented friends of my own who were premiering their own films such as "Sweatshop" directed by Stacy Davidson, starring my best friend and amazing actress Ashley Kay <3 which was followed by a 2 1/2 hour autograph signing *Congratulations*
Another great film I had the opportunity to watch as my friend and director Jeremy Sumrall take the panel for his upcoming film "Possum Walk" .. I'm not real sure what to do with myself at times these past few days, so I think I'll just start writing. This past week has been a crazy one for me, difficult -emotionally & physically draining at times yet I still had more fun this week then I have in a long time. My head is such a blur I can't figure out the days or of what happened when and who I need to contact about what.. Daily routines are occasionally a struggle and nothing makes much sense. Before you start to roll your eyes I suppose I should explain that my stepfather passed away. He had an adventurous life traveling the world for some offshore company, and coming home to visit once every couple months... he passed away February 15 and my family was not informed until 2 weeks later, a week after his funeral took place which his family arranged and carried on with without us. Such a strange situation to be in, to have no closure with a family member who was taken in such a violent way... such an evil, hateful thing for some disgusting people to do. I'm left feeling so confused, like any day he could just wander in the door like he did... Life is so surreal but I know that like with all things these feelings too will pass.

You were far from perfect but it never kept you from trying.

On a lighter note, because of all the family drama you can imagine I've been dealing with I have just buried myself in my work and really pushed myself to the limit.. or so what I thought some of my limits were =)

I have worked for about 8 days straight and on very little sleep, but I met some of the coolest people and had the chance to work with some really amazing people I have been dying to work with. Such as MUA Angel Jagger, she is such a bad ass and told me some pretty funny stories! I can't wait for us to get together again <3

Happy belated Valentines Day!
I hope you all had a great one I'm not a huge fan of the commercialized holiday but I do enjoy any excuse to receive candy and flowers! *Hehe*

Anyway, I don't have a whole lot to say today and I have a ton of work to do so instead I'll share with you some work I've done with Houston's very own Janean of JaJo Couture. I love her stuff, she is super creative and a lot of fun to work with! Be sure and check out some of her work here:

This weekend was really great, one of the best I have had in awhile. I just felt really inspired, I was super productive and still had a lot of fun and got to hang out with some of my favorite people and artists...
Saturday I spent the day shooting with Chuca and Mark(Bradley) we managed to produce some more amazing work together. They are two of my favorite photographers to work with, not to mention them boys know how to have a good time *hehe* =P

Tomorrow I'm going shopping with Chuca for some fabric, I'm going to be designing and making the wardrobe for an interesting and exciting upcoming project we have in the works! I love fabric stores, or craft malls... if I could have my own Hobby Lobby I'd be the happiest girl in the world! ... Until then I'll just go broke trying to build my own =P

I'm so sleepy... this has been such a long day... But today's shoot was a lot of fun! I always love hanging out and shooting with my friends Mark (Bradley) and Chuca... doesn't hurt that our work together is always amazing! *Hehe* =) I can't wait to see the rest of todays sets at the cotton gin.

Hello everyone,
Welcome to 2010, I hope you all had a great New Years eve! I don't know about you, but I for one am rather thankful for the end of the holiday seasons As much fun as it is to catch up with distant family members, decorate the home with pretty lights, drink too much, eat too much and share all kinds of new presents and fun stuff...it's exhausting.
I am however extremely excited about the new year. For some reason I have this strange feeling of excitement and peace, in knowing that this year is going to be really great!
Perhaps because last year was one less than favorable.. a lot of readjusting from my move back across the country, a lot of foolish mistakes in my personal life and constantly under stress never feeling like there were enough hours in the day,
However, I suppose I had to make the mistakes I did in order to be able to look back on and have grown and learned a lot about myself because of them.
But, I have decided that this year is all about ME and making myself happy, because that is what should be important. I have found I spend entirely too much time focusing on other people and their expectations of me, which in turn causes me too put a lot of extra pressure on myself to please and not to disappoint, leading to an ultimately overall negative attitude towards myself of not feeling I am ever good enough. Well.. *News Flash*.. I am
I have a lot of personal goals for inward self growth and improvement which only adds to my excitement about this new year.
My website is still under major reconstruction and has been for far too long but I have no one to blame for that except myself, I am simply struggling with what exact direction I plan to take my professional self in... I am currently working on designing and launching my own line of fashion & accessories which I will be incorporating into my site as well as all of the work I have produced over the years as one of your favorite Alt models. *Hehe*
Somehow I will manage to find a way to tie it all into one big pretty bow!
...So 2010.. bring it on!

Rubber ducky your the one...

So as I was pulling up my website for tonights post I received a phone call which said private caller. I knew right away it was going to be a telemarketer but sometimes I like to answer and tell them how much I appreciate them calling me 10 times a day to sell me their junk which I never inquired about.. anyway, so I went ahead and answered only to realize it was a policeman on the other line so I got really nervous and extremely polite *haha* Only to realize he was a police officer trying to sell me something!! How sly! I had to think of a way to politely but immediately get this officer off my telelphone so I thanked him for his time but told him I was about to write a very important blog for work and would have to say good night. He then proceeded to ask about my site... "I sell little rubber duckies, they're real cute! Thank you, goodnight! *click*" Which I now find quite hilarious but I'm hoping they don't trace my phone number and do something crazy, eep!

Speaking of which, I just found this website...www.rubberduckworld.com/
Did you know they made limited edition collectible rubber ducks?..Nonetheless, ones that look like celebrities?? *Haha* Too funny!

Anyway, I hope everyone has been enjoying their November! I think November is favorite month of the year, and October! Can't forget Halloween *hehe* The way the leaves change colors and the weather is so muvch more inviting just makes me feel so happy and relaxed. I spend all year every year looking forward to this time of year =)

Today was a really great day, it started out a little rough but as the day progressed I was feeling much more inspired and managed to get quite a bit of work done! I have a lot of exciting shoots coming up, where I will be traveling and working with some really great photographers! Wish I could share more but I dont want to spoil the suprise *hehe*

So! In other news.. *ahem* This weekend I will be making the journey back out to Groespeck, Texas to film my final scenes for the horror movie we have been working so hard on Possum Walk Directed by Jeremy Sumrall ..Be sure and check out the new trailer! You can see me at about :49 sitting in the third church pew looking all evil =)

After a month away it has been really hard to get myself motivated to get back into my regular working schedule, but the more inspired I start to get the better I feel and the happier I am to be back here with all of you!
Since Thanksgiving is coming up I have been thinking a lot about things I am thankful for and I would like to say Thank you, to everyone who has constantly been a supportive friend and fan. You all mean so much to me and never do your kind words and encouragement go unappreciated =) Life is hard for everyone, and I am fortunate to have such amazing people in my life. Im glad I am only 22, life has already been such an exciting and unexpected adventure I can't wait to see what's in store!

Home at Last!!

Hi everyone!
Long time no blog, I hope you all have missed me as much as I have missed you =)
I am not going to write much tonight I just wanted to let everyone know I am home from my month long escapade across county.
I had such a wonderful trip it was very relaxing and really gave me the opportunity to get my head together.

I've been having a really hard time lately adjusting to some major changes that have taken place in my life, and although the trip has somewhat set me back financially it was completely worth every minute. I was away for my favorite holiday of the year...Halloween =/ ... but I hope you all had a fantastic holiday and received some delicious & devilish treats *hehe*

I have a ton of pictures to share with all of you and soo.. many exciting things to share, but for tonight I am exhausted and it's time for me to get some rest!

Cherry Blossoms

Wow ok, I haven't posted in a while. *Eeeep*! My bad.
I have been a little out of sorts the last few weeks, due to a lot of things happening and changing in my life that I was not expecting and quite unprepared for but in any case I woke today for the first time in a while and knew everything was ok now =)
In any case this year has just flown by and I have not had a chance to take any vacations or real time for myself, so next week I am taking a trip to Richmond, Virginia. I am so excited and I can't wait to see all of my wonderful friends and just lay by the river and read a book or take myself on little picnics under a tree in the fields of Cherry Blossoms. I really am happy to be home in Texas but it really takes leaving a place to realize how much it meant to you and how beautiful it truly is. Not to mention my big brother lives in Richmond *hehe* I can't wait to see him and help him out at his restaurant he has just opened this past year "Alamo BBQ" He is an amazing cook! D-E-licious and also, probably the reason I myself have developed such a love for culinary art.
The other "me" event I am super excited about, this Friday I will be taking a trip to Austin with my best friends for the night to see one of my favorite bands play, The Raveonettes <33
Their music is so good and the lyrics are all so wonerfully written *hehe* they really mean a lot to me and have helped me through some really rough periods in my life. Although, they are no Tom Petty I love them one and the same and I cannot wait to finally see them live!!

Hmmm.. I was trying to post a cute picture of me all excited with my tickets my lap top is not coooperating...will have to post some pictures for all of you later =)

I have felt very unproductive the last couple weeks due to being in a lot of pain and feeling sick. I have had to spend a lot of down time around my house taking antibiotics and eating vitamins. Saturday morning I finally woke up in so much pain my girlfriend had to rush me to the emergency room where we were told I had a kidney stone *Eww* Definitely explained the pain though, they relate it to child-birth *another ewww* Thank goodness for morphine! The doctor prescribed me some medicine, told me I should feel better in just a couple days and sent me on my way. It has been almost 4 days now and I am feeling 100% better! *Yay*

I'm so happy, I did not want to go on my trip in poor condition!

Ok everyone well I'm still having to take my medicine until it runs out and unfortunately it makes me very sleepy so it's time for me to get some rest. I promise lots of pictures next post!

Twisted Rides- Hot Rods & Hot Pin Up girls!

Hello, Hello!
So this weekend I went and performed at my very first car show put on by my friends at Twisted Rides, Rob & his beautiful wife and good friend Terri Valentine =)

There were over 80 custom Hot Rods featured and some great vendors! My personal favorites were the Cherry Bomb boutique & the barber offering his custom services in Rockabilly hairstyles and selling the necessary hair products every good Rockabilly needs *hehe*

My favorite part of all was the Pin- up girl contest I entered which featured about 20 gorgeous ladies from all over Texas. 1st prize was a beautiful and of course pink trophy and a basket full of more rockabilly necessities every girl needs! Which I was very fortunate to get to take home with me =) All the girls were great and it was so much fun I will definitely be attending the next one in October! Thank you Terri for asking me to be a part of the show!

I shot with several great photographers at the show and will be featured in several upcoming Hot Rod magazines, so keep your eye out!

My friend and photographer Mark Bradley also joined me on this venture which I am also very grateful for, we had a lot of fun hanging out and shooting with a number of beautiful classic hot rods. And, since the car show was only about 10 minutes from the beach we decided to go down and shoot a set on the beach at sunset! We got some beautiful shots and some of the guys at the show were kind enough to drive their beautiful classics down to the beach, out onto the sand and let me shoot with them. Of course I'm sure they enjoyed the shoot as much as I did =)

Organiazation Yay

So finally a day to myself where I can relax a little and catch up on a few things, work on my website, edit some pictures and eventually sleep I hope!
Also, I have been so busy lately I feel like I've turned into a complete scatter brain and I ran out of pages in my planner months ago and been trying to keep up with my schedule all by memory *haha* and unfortunately -not a good idea! S0 this morning I woke up and decided to stop overwhelming myself and buy a new daily planner. I was so happy at the store everyne probably though I was insane walking around with a huge smile on my face all excited and the only thing on my list was an organizer, but maybe just maybe there was someone around me who could relate to the joy of having your entire life neatly wrapped up in a neat little package, err.. planner. I've rushed home now so I can start filling it out! It's so cute too, pink with brown polka dotted pages, the cute "vintage" theme I adore =)

And in case your interested I also bought some pretty black curtain rods to hang up my super cool new zebra patterned curtains I made. I've been working a lot at turning my house into a home. I have lived here now about 6 months I figure it's time to finish unpacking and start buying some new furniture *hehe* gives me an excuse to shop! I also bought an adorable pink vintage apron to make me feel happy while I clean...clean...clean =) Guess I'm running a little late on my spring cleaning, but I think fall cleaning is much more preferable!

Hello everyone!
Hope your all having a great weekend!
I definitely have, very busy, very stressful and a lot of fun =) Yesterday I left my house at 8am drove 3 hours to Groesbeck, Texas to film another scene for the movie Possum Walk, soon to be brought to you by Bloodbrick Pictures and directed by Jerey Sumrall. This is my first movie and so much fun! I still can't give away any secrets of the movie *hehe* but I will tell you I spent 6 hours in makeup yesterday getting *zombified*** ...Scarrry! Then shot til the wee morning hours and had to get in the car and drive all the way back to Houston, but totally woth it =) I was running on 3 hours of sleep and managed to stay awake thanks to Red Bull, awesome people on set and lots of excitement. I'm still a little out of it and possibly a bit delirious but I wanted to share with all of you this fun *Behind the Scenes* phone pic I took!

They did an incredible job on the make up I love it and can't wait to go back for the rest of my scenes! *Yay*

In other news! I will be taking a tour along the East coast beginning Sept 10 and will be shooting with some of my favorite photographers such as DastardlyDave *hehe*as well as many others, I have been looking forward to meeting and working with!

Soooo...Excited =)

Snakehead fish & phone cammage!

*Eeek* Is anyone else terrified of these new found creatures or 'fish' they can survive on land for up to 3 days!

Although only currently found on the East Coast and a small part of Cali, they are very deadly and spreading fast! -Every time a female lays eggs, she can lay up to 15, 000 at a time. *That's craziness!*

However, my new kitten "Little Frank Sinatra" has been doing his best to help me pass the time! He keeps me pretty busy with his need for play and my desire to make him home cooked meals like grilled salmon with a side of kitten milk.. yes he is spoiled but he is adorable.. I can't help it!

You may also notice in the above photo I have some new ink.. this I am very excited about *hehe* Every couple of months I get an irresistible urge to hear the humming of the tattoo gun as it penetrates my virgin skin =)

As many of you know for the past 5 years I have traveled across the country to Richmond, Virginia every couple of months to satisfy my need for ink which don't get me wrong is worth every bit of the opportunity to work with the wonderful Germ <3
